Part-Time Online Data Science Program Planning

A working adult should evaluate a part-time online data science program by translating the published program plan into a weekly calendar: credits or courses per term, term dates, live-session rules, assignment deadlines, course sequence, and enrollment-status effects. A schedule fit depends on high-demand weeks, not only on the average week.

Credit hours are not identical to weekly study hours, but they are a useful starting point for planning. For a working adult, the practical issue is not only whether aid is available. The planning question is whether taking fewer courses changes:

  • Employer tuition-assistance timing

  • The expected out-of-pocket amount for a term
